_KEROXEN, spontaneous combustion since 2009
Bio
KEROXEN is the festival that since 2009 has transformed the interior of a fuel tank, the El Tanque Cultural Space (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), into a meeting place where different disciplines converge that stimulate the relationship between art and people. Today it also functions as a record label and artistic residency laboratory.

EC El Tanque
Originally, El Tanque was used to store around 40 million liters of fuel oil, in order to supply fuel to ships in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. However, in 1958, when the neighborhood of Cabo-Llanos, where it is located, was transformed into a residential area, it stopped fulfilling that function of storage.
In 1997, thanks to the rehabilitation proposal of architect Fernando Martín Menis, the space was inaugurated as the El Tanque Cultural Space. The architectural firm AMP (Artengo, Menis, Pastrana) took advantage of the structural characteristics of the tank and preserved its industrial character, using recycled materials from the refinery that was being dismantled at that time.
In 2014, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Monument category by Decree of April 30, 2014.
Label
KRXN Label is the label associated with the multidisciplinary festival of the same name that is held every year at the Espacio Cultural el Tanque, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. With this initiative, the festival wants to serve as a platform for local artists who share our vocation for experimentation, fun, and sound and visual distortion.
Edge network
The Edge Project was born as a platform for the creation of cultural synergies, in which artists from different peripheral areas of Europe show their music and field of cultural experimentation under the umbrella of three international festivals: Keroxen, in the Canary Islands (Spain); Tremor, in Azores (Portugal) and Fengaros, in Cyprus. The objective of this project is to show the current musical explosion from remote areas of Europe, which unites different cultures, musical genres and environmental concerns.
